ALiR 1.2

This application serves as a tool for participants engaged in the research study known as American Life in Realtime (ALiR), an initiative under the Understanding America Study (UAS), which is supported by the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

Today, various consumer health devices such as Apple Watch, RunKeeper, Fitbit, and Noom Coach are widely accessible, offering users the means to monitor their health and wellbeing. However, the efficacy of these tools is often limited by studies that employ small sample sizes, frequently excluding individuals from diverse backgrounds. This oversight contributes to disparities in healthcare access and outcomes, disproportionately affecting our most vulnerable populations.

Through this study, we aim to leverage Fitbit devices to explore how digital health data can be utilized to enhance overall wellbeing. Our focus is on inclusivity, ensuring that our research encompasses participants who accurately reflect the diversity of America.
